[Pexers Write-Ups] Kim Hyun Joong Born To Struggle?
The word struggle has had a somewhat negative connotation. Most associate struggle and struggling to those with less in life. They become synonymous to being unfortunate, luckless, unfit and worst, doomed.
Those well versed with and embedded in struggle must raise their head with pride.YOU have been acknowledging the fundamental law in nature-struggle and survive. From the biological micro to the macro level this law is supreme.
Apply this to the entertainment industry (the uphill /downhill battles of of idols and the famous ) and its practitioners, what do we have?
Case in point : Kim Hyun Joong. Struggled to make it with his group among other groups to be recognized and maintain the position. Struggled to be a solo artist amidst the intrigues. Struggled to be considered an actor with merit not just having a pretty face and body. Struggled to be his very best -eats challenge for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
A respectable philosopher once said-
“The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.”
-Friedrich Friedrich Nietzsche from the Brainy Quote
Doesn’t the above quotation apply to Hyun Joong? You know what his “tribe” was.
But I am extending the price tag of being on one’s own to include it is tiring- to be always on your toes, looking over your shoulder, checking who is shadowing you, always on your guard, not being able to hold on to victory for long.
The plus side of struggling is the chance to blaze your own path, be your own model,to not repeat past mistakes of others or be complacent of the tried and beaten ways. Instead the opportunity to innovate and create is always omnipresent though not all sees them that way.
Kim Hyun Joong was born to struggle …and struggle. It is redundant to talk about what he went through. But look at the result. As Nietzsche said, never mind the price in exchange for the privilege of owning himself meaning being able to do what he wants to do (now). He definitely earned it.
As he becomes well entrenched in his position in the industry, it doesn’t look like he is losing the energy, the guts, the strength, the passion and motivation that served him well. In his book they are the means to continuous growth.
One thing Hyun Joong did a long time ago was strike out the word laziness from his vocabulary. His hardworking ways are well known and he is one never resting on his past laurels. Even if there were failures and temporary setbacks they don’t stop him from moving forward and treat them as lessons though expensive (his very word) in terms of time and efforts. Of course he wants success -who doesn’t? It is sweet and good to look at -the trophies and medals, the titles and crowns all are symbols of recognition but also the icing on the cake. But HJ most of all bakes the cake well -from scratch not from the boxed kind.
With the above narratives I feel like killing my original thesis, instead offer KIM HYUN JOONG WAS BORN OUT OF HIS STRUGGLES -a self made man.
