“We all make mistakes, have struggles, even regrets in things in our past. But you are not your mistakes, you are not your struggles. You are here NOW with the power to shape your day and future” -Steve Maraboli

The latest good news besides seeing KHJ’s military picture looking healthy, confident and in his old form (well maybe not fully yet -but he is getting there) is he has been given the title squad training leader.

While he maybe is the oldest in the group of eight -it cannot be denied he brought with him the attitude and traits that the army needs in their leaders. These are loyalty, being responsible, being courageous, having initiative, having a sense of duty, thoroughness, respectful, thinking of others before oneself, intelligent, among others.

To KHJ answering to the above descriptors is second nature. He didn’t have them just to survive in the army. He had them long time ago. Add his discipline on himself and being hard core indefatigable worker more or less complete what KIM HYUN JOONG that we know is all about.

Whatever they say, being past leader of SS501 did not go for nothing. It was the ground were his potentials were uncovered and honed. When he went solo it wasn’t the best kept secret that he handled his production numbers meticulously prepared and executed with clockwork precision. Someone with that mindset and stamina definitely is an asset for the army.

With three more weeks of training until he goes as well as the others to their respective assignments or divisions HJ will show he is more than a celebrity soldier but a solid gold soldier fulfilling his duty to country.

KHJ may have been to hell and back. But he is now being given and using the chance to show what he is all about. Not one to lose an opportunity to use the power inherent to all of us to shape the road he will be heading to one day.

Squad leadership is the highest position a conscripts can attain .They are voted by their members. As far as relationships are concerned It is not really their age that matters but when they entered the military service as trainee. It helps of course that HJ is known to have a pleasing personality plus all the other traits I mentioned above. It is not a breeze to take control and care for the members who may not be prepared for the military way of life.
